The coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) is profoundly affecting life around the globe. Since the start of the pandemic, Etiqa has actively assisted the country in its fight against Covid-19 through various contributions and initiatives.

Contributions & Initiatives

  • RM1 million for the purchase of ventilators through Mercy Malaysia to ease the impending shortage faced by designated hospitals tasked with responding to Covid-19 cases around the country.
  • RM1 million to Mercy Malaysia’s Pandemic Fund to support the strategic preparedness and response plan to the virus. 
  • RM10 million for more than 68,000 Covid-19 test kits for government hospitals.
  • RM891,000 to purchase 2.7 million units of LVD syringes for MOH to support the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme.
  • RM84,000 to purchase 300 units of Oxygen Flow Meters to support Sungai Buloh Hospital as the main Covid-19 hospital of the country.
  • RM1.4 million through Etiqa’s Corporate Zakat Responsibility programme for affected asnafs across Malaysia, in collaboration with governmental organisations and NGO partners.
  • RM50,000 to set up the Etiqa Cares Corner in Pusat Rawatan dan Kuarantin Berisiko Rendah (PKRC) MAEPS Serdang. This corner provides a safe space for children to read, create arts and crafts, and many more while undergoing quarantine.
  • RM90,000 to provide sustenance aid to 600 families affected by the Covid-19 pandemic across six locations in Klang Valley.
  • RM944,160 worth of medical equipment to the emergency departments of Kuala Lumpur Hospital and Ampang Hospital to assist in combating the Covid-19 pandemic. The equipment includes 10 resuscitation beds, 20 mobile beds, 300 units of twin oxygen flow meters, 6 units of vital sign monitors, and 40 syringe pump units with docking systems.
